Adams (Samuel) statue is dedicated.
July 5, 1880
Artist: Anne Whitney. It is installed initially in Adams Square. The statue is subsequently moved to the plaza in front of Faneuil Hall. A replica of the original commissioned for the Statuary Hall in the Capitol building in Washington, it is moved to Dock Square in 1928, then to in front of Faneuil Hall in 1987.
